Maastricht (home town)

To eat favourites

• Harry’s; one of my favourite restaurants for sure! A-ma-zing food, wine and ambiance. Highly recommended!
• Onglet; also one of my favourite restaurants in Maastricht!! Lovely local food
• Gio’s (no website); hidden at the Vrijthof square is this amazing Italian restaurant. You can only reserve a table by calling around 4.30pm.
• Cafe Sjiek; all time favourite, read the New York Times article here. Extremely reasonable priced and tasty food! They don’t take reservations.
• Il y a; lovely French restaurant in the upcoming Koestraat
• Mediterraneo; best Italian of The Netherlands. Although the prices are a little high, the food and wines are just incredible!

• • Witloof; great Belgian restaurant!

• • “O”; best fishrestaurant in Maastricht, based in the street where I’m living.

• Kruisherenhotel; the ambience is just amazing; an old monastry. Good food as well!

• • Wycker Cabinet; lovely concept, great gt’s!

• Brandweerkantine; around the corner of the Vrijthof, little away of the fuss. Great concept!

• Chrisfama; my favourite restaurant in Lisbon!!! Always amazing food & drinks!! Highly recommended
• Clube de Jornalistas; really, really nice ambiance and food!
• Foodhall; really nice foodhall, located at the water
• Wine Bar do Castelo; one of my favourite wine bars in Lisbon!
• Frade dos Mares; amazing food & wine pairings, all locally sourced.
• Solar do Vinho do Porto; a couple of old guys running this port tasting basement. Endless list of great ports!!

Budapest

• Borbiróság; amazing local food!
• Café Kör; one of my favourite places to eat!
• Doblo; best wine bar in Budapest!
• London Coffee Society; always my favourite breakfast spot. Amazing coffee!
• Tasting Table; wonderful wine cellar. Great wines, even better staff!
• Riso; really nice Italian!
• Prime; best steak house of Eastern Europe! 🙂
• Szimpla Kert; de gave ruine bar!
• Szamost; hier haal je echt het meest waanzinnige gebak! Zeker even een aangeklede koffie doen 🙂
• Beer Brothers; echt heerlijke lokale bieren!
• Déryné Bistro; great bruch place!
• Cirkusz Café: another amazing brunch place!

Ibiza

• Bagatelle; dancing on the tables, while dancing. yes, yes, yes!
• El Chiringuito Es Cavallet; amazing lunch location!!
• Cala Bassa Beachclub; my favourite beach club! Reserve a bed, totally worth it!
• Pacha; best nightclub. VIP is highly recommended!
• Blue Marlin; nice beach club. Go on Sunday for food & dance!
• Ushuaia; best day / open air club! VIP is highly recommended!

Milan

• TIBI – Bistrot Provençal; best cocktail place I know! So, so good!
• La Briciola; damn good food!
• Shopping: Erera, Pieteo Verri, Matias Outlet, Lanieri

Belfast

• Boojum; amazing burrito
• Tribal Burger; best burgers in town
• The Woodworkers; great bar with 20+ taps. Try the beerflight
• Crown Liquor Saloon; most beautiful bar I’ve ever been to!
• French Village; best breakfast! Try the white chocolate blueberry pancakes!

Kathmandu, Nepal

• ACE – For all the tours around the Himalaya
• Black Olives – amazing steak
• Roadhouse – best pizza

Malta

• Sussurus; awesome food and an amazing view!

Paris

• Mamma Primi; one of the most amazing Italian restaurants I’ve been to. WOW

Havana

• El Dandy; one of the only non-government-controlled cocktail bars. Really nice food & drinks, great place to sit and chill down.
• Factoria Plaza Vieja; really nice place to sit down. Brewing their own beer! Try the beer-mojito.
• La Vitrola; little touristic, but great food!
• La Bodeguita del Medio; best mojito’s in town!

Dublin

• Basil; great pizza!
• Mulberry Garden; wowwowow, amazing food!!
• Herbstreet; my favourite breakfast place!! Try the stack of pancakes 🙂
• Jameson Distillery; too many types of whiskey sour 😉

Split (Croatia)

• Brasserie on 7; nice, trendy place in the center of Split. Amazing food, great spot to sit… highly recommended!
• Zinfandel; definitely the best wine bar in Split! Damn… too many great wines! 🙂

Istanbul

• Namli Gurme; most amazing lunchplace I have been. Wow! Incredible food!
• Deraliye; really nice Ottoman food restaurant
• Asitane; very nice food!
• Ayasofya Hamam; best Hamam in town!
